Vail, Colorado is one of the most beautiful and frequently visited mountain resorts in the Rocky Mountains for its top notch ski area and its quaint European village that boasts top notch restaurants and accommodations. Just down the road by about 10-15 minutes tucked behind the town of Avon, is the Beavercreek resort which has also become a great place and tends to be smaller and less crowded than Vail. Here you can stay in the slope side Hyatt Regency with its enormous antler chandelier as well as several rustic iron chandeliers or iron chandelier. For more affordable accommodations, there are various condos here as well.
The Beavercreek Hyatt has some striking views once you enter the lobby with its enormous floor to ceiling window that overlooks the ski area. In the winter, you can step into your skis that are kept in a guest locker area and hit the slopes or if you go there in the summertime, you can enjoy the sunny weather by the pool that is right at the base of the mountain that is covered in beautiful wildflowers.
If the Hyatt is too expensive, there are many condominiums located around the main village that are somewhat more affordable and offer the guests a bit more space. They vary in types of accommodations and prices so there is sure to be something for everyone who wishes to stay in Beavercreek. There is a bubbling creek that runs through the area and some of the condos are located right on it, offering the great sounds of rushing water to its guests. Oxford Court is located on the creek and is just a short walk to the center of the village which is most convenient. The units are all separately owned so you may deal with the owner or the resort company to book one of their units. The Charter is another terrific place that has been there for awhile and offers a great location and wonderful mountain views also.
For a real splurge, you can stay at the newly constructed Ritz-Carlton in Bachelor Gulch which is a valley a bit lower than the village of Beavercreek. A lot of celebrities enjoy staying here as it is more private and quiet than Vail and the accommodations are the most luxurious you can get. Another expensive, new addition to Beavercreek is the Cordillera resort. It is known for the four top rated golf courses in a perfect mountain setting in addition to its location perched up on top of a mountain looking down on the Vail valley.
One of the fun things in the center of this smaller European village is a big ice skating rink that can be used all four seasons. Beaver Creek is also known for its world class galleries and its beautiful theatre that hosts several musical concerts. Vail offers a lot more activity and restaurants but it is nice to be able to go there to visit and then retreat back to the smaller, quieter Beavercreek, just down the road.
