The compressor seems to live up to its specs. I have easily run 3/8 and 1/2 inch impact wrenches, a brad gun and a complete nail weapon, along using blow guns, etc. When I went to apply a Snap-On 7200 3/8″ air ratchet, the performance was only adequate. Then I read the specification for the ratchet and it calls for 4.5 cfm. The Makita is rated at 4.2. SO, you do get to view the cfm ratings on tools: I am sure a 8 cfm jitterbug sander will not work. But then again, that is not the type of tool I needed this for.
The product is compact, but a lot heavier duty than similar Cr*ftman compressors I saw at Sears. It recycles easily and fills the container in fewer than 20 seconds. It arrived using a great owner’s handbook and a bottle of oil.
I did get a problem where the plastic oil filler cap was cracked, but Makita easily delivered me a substitution part under warantee. I would suggest this unit to everyone seeking an occasional use compressor and does not would like something large or loud.
