Should I sand or use stripping agent on bathroom cabinets or both?

Want to remove and update the 1970’s stain with a more updated mahogany color. I have heard both and unsure. What stripping agent is best for non-ventilated bathroom? Thanks.
The cabinets have not been painted previously but have a wood stain. Sounds like stain removers should only be used for removing layers of paint off wood?
i am looking for a cabinet refresher for our bathroom cabinets. they have a few rough spots.?

but not in bad enough shape to totally refinish, they are oak cabinets and are not painted but varnished. i just want a product that i can put on them to refresh the finish and improve the rough/worn spots.
Reface bathroom cabinets or buy 2 new vanities?

We’re looking to save money, but our bathroom cabinets are looking pretty bad. anyone ever reface a double vanity? or should we just buy a new one?

How can you stain the standard bathroom cabinets like you'd find at Home Depot or Lowes….?

I’m trying to makeover or bathroom without doing a huge remodel. Something simple. In the bathroom we have those standard cheapish cabinets with the acrylic sink. Is there a proper way to stain the cabinets to possibly make them darker. They are a light – medium wood color I think it’s wood. Has anyone ever tried painting these kinds of cabinets. Also, anybody have any suggestions one the acrylic top. Do you think it’s possible to get some small tiles and thinset and decorate it. Any ideas?

Restaining bathroom cabinets?

I have solid wood whitewash stain bathroom cabinets. I want to restain them a darker finish. What steps do I need to undertake to remove the old finish and ensure the new finish looks good? Appreciate the anticipated advice!
Replacing master bathroom cabinets?

We need to rip out and replace our master bathroom cabinets (dual sink). They are water damaged and have no drawers. We don’t want anything fancy, just simple cabinets with drawers, under sink storage and a simple countertop. The space isn’t that large, 21 1/8 deep and 37 5/8 long. Approximately how much would this cost? Is Home Depot a good place to go to buy the cabinets and have them installed? I don’t want to get ripped off but this is our first attempt at remodeling so we are a bit clueless. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
